I want to learn Japanese and I must begin by learning Hiragana so I wrote a quiz using php (now in ruby on rails) to help me learn how to read the various characters.

How to use the quiz:

1. Choose which rows you want to be tested on (i.e. _k_ for か, き, く, け, こ), the number of characters per question, and the total number of questions;
2. Start the quiz;
3. Type the romanji for each hiragana (i.e. ‘ku’ for く) — note you must type a space between each romanji reading!
4. Check your answer;
5. At the end you will see your results.
